Here’s the thing: most of us working artists spend an enormous amount of our time raising money, usually in rather small chunks, to make our projects happen. We often combine this apple-selling with finding ways to cut corners and make our work happen for less.

But Room 50K is about something else.

I asked a select group of the finest serious working artists in a range of disciplines to tell me about a project they would like to do that would cost $50K. One at a time, these artists will be the tenants of Room 50K. They will each stay one month, or until the project is funded.

Gifts in any other amount than $50K will not be accepted.

If you want to become the underwriter for a tenant’s project, simply send an email to me at [email protected] and I will put you in contact with the artist and his/her non-profit sponsor. Your gift will be 100% tax-deductible. You will be recognized here on the site as the underwriter for the artist’s 50K project, unless you do not wish to be recognized. I will not receive any commission on these gifts. I am featuring these artists here on my site because I believe in their work and want to see their projects happen. And yes, every once in a while, the tenant of Room 50K will be myself.
